Bi Weekly Challenge at Chocolate, Coffee and Cards #42

Hello Fellow Crafters,

It is time again for another challenge over at Chocolate, Coffee and Cards Blog. Can you believe that it is almost 4th July? My has this year gone by fast! The theme for this weeks challenge is 4th of July and Red, White and Blue. Our sponsor for this week is DRS Designs. We were allowed to pick our stamp, by the way, they have some amazing stamps! For my card I wanted to celebrate our Troops. So here is my card....

My choice of stamp was the "Support the Troops" Ribbon. I colored it in with my Copic Markers and the background was created with my Cricut. I had not used my machine in a while. The cartridge I used is Stand and Salute. I used some of the border images that would represent the branches of our Troops. Army , Navy, Air Force and Marines. As a native German that has been living in the USA now for 21 years, I am very supportive of the troops. They do so much for us and fight for our freedom here! Thank you all for your Service!!! Now just a few more pics of some of the details of the card.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you will have some time to check out the other amazing creations my Design Team Sisters have in store for you over at Chocolate, Coffee and Cards Blog. If you have been inspired to share some of your creations then you even have a chance to win a $10 gift certificate from our Sponsor DSR Design.

Until soon,
Nadja

Liebster Award

Oh my Goodness I got my first Blog Award!!!!!!  I want to thank Pam Kimper at PJ's TREASURES for nominating me for a LIEBSTER Award!  I'm sure she'd love a visit!

What IS the LIEBSTER Award?  I asked the same thing!  I had seen the button on a lot of blogs; but never inquired about it.
Simply put, it's an honor that gets passed around by bloggers with less than 200 followers. It's a great way for the newbie, like me, to network and meet others.
It's a way to 'Pay It Forward".  Liebe means LOVE in German!

"The real "gist" of the Liebster Award is that there is no real award. There are no judges, no special rules. No website with an official team to congratulate you and hold your hand. It's mostly what you want it to be. If you receive the award, you can 1) accept it and 2) pass it along. It's that easy."  Sopphey over at SOPPHEY SAYS
Stop over and say HI!

And here are the rules:
  • Thank your nominator & include a link back to their blog!
  • Answer the 11 questions given to you by your nominator
  • Post 11 facts about yourself
  • Nominate 5-11 {I’ve seen various numbers} other up-and-coming blogs with less than 200 followers for the award–no tag backs!
  • Come up with 11 questions for your nominees to answer

The winner will be announced Wednesday, June 19th on Miranda's blog!

Here is my Project:

I bought the frame at Michael's a while back with Father's Day in mind. I just did not see what it would turn out to be.
Then the inspiration hit me...

Two of our children. I love their expression on their face and it is a good reflection of them and their personallity. Oh by the way I think this post will be a bit picture lenghty...lol. I think the only thing I did not use is my kitchen sink. Since both of them can write, more or less, I wanted them to be a bit involved with this project. Here is what they wrote...

From there it was just an overload of inspiration and I have used a lot of Tim Holtz products that I had in my stash. I will highlight a few techniques that I used and then I will just add some more pictures so I do not bore you to pieces.

For this background piece I sprayed it heavily with water and then started crunching it up. Once I had it the way I liked it I used the heat gun to dry it up. After that I used the walnut stain ink pad and rubbed it all over. The next step was that I added some embossing powder on the top and with the heat gun from underneath the paper melted the powder.

This is very simple to create! Use ink pad and rub it all over the embossing folder then spray a bit of water ( I used distress ink, walnut stain) and then ran it through the machine.

Here are some more details from the project-

The bird cage is on the very bottom of the frame. I had to hammer quiet a few nails into the outer part of the frame and I was surprised that the frame held together so nicely!

Alright, next on the hop is:

And here is my project:

This is the first time I use this cartridge from Cricut. When I saw this image from Pooh and the beehive I knew what I wanted to create. The background of this card was created with Ranger inks and a piece of paper with a wavy edge that I cut with fancy scissors.

Once I inked the clouds and grass I used a darker green and a sponge to give it some texture. After that the rest was easy.

I added some more dimension with some markers and the final touch was to add some sparkle with some flowers in the grass.

Up next is Sarah at: http://itswhatkeepsmesane.blogspot.com

Bi Weekly Challenge at Chocolate, Coffee and Cards #41

Hello Fellow Crafters,

It is time for another great challenge at Chocolate, Coffee and Cards Challenge Blog! This time I am so super excited to share my card creation with all of you. Our sponsor for this challenge is Kenny K. I love his designs! They are so edgy and detailed. We also had to choose from a Bingo grid. If you never played along with a Bingo grid you must use the suggested items within a row, column or diagonal line on your card. How much fun is that?!

Here is my card for the challenge:
Hier ist meine Karte fuer die Challenge:

I chose Paige Parasol Digi Stamp. When I first saw this design I knew that this is the one. My fear at the time was that I never had colored anything this detailed before and to be honest it was a challenge for me. At the end I am very happy with the outcome though. I have to take a step back sometimes and realize that it has only been a year that I am coloring with my markers and not very often or as often as I would like too.

Here are the copics that I used
Hat, Boots, Corsett, Parasol/Haare, Stiefel, Corsett, Schirm: C00, C1, C3, C5, C7, BG10, BG13, BG15, BG18
Dress/Kleid: V2, V15, V17
Skin/Haut: E000, E00, E11, E21, R20
Hair/Haare: Y23, YR24, E35

And now some more close ups from my card.

Und nun noch eine paar Bilder von meiner Karte.

And now it is time for you to check out all the other wonderful and creative cards that my Design Team Sisters have created for you.Go to Chocolate, Coffee and Cards Blog and I hope these cards will inspire you to join us in this challenge. I can't wait to see what you have created for us to view.

Und jetzt geht es mal schnell zu unserem Blog damit Ihr Euch die anderen wunderschoenen Kreationen von meinen Design Team Schwestern anschauen koennt.
