Treasured Time Challenge #6 ~ Nontraditonal Christmas Colors

Hello Fellow Crafters,

I am in awe of how fast these last few weeks of this year are going by! Looking back at this year it has been a wild ride with so many things happening. Hopefully it will only get better for our family!!!
Now onto my post....I am a Guest Designer for Treasured Times Challenge Blog! I could not have picked a better time. The stamp that I was given to is just so amazing and it inspired me to try some new things. The name of the stamp is called Snow Lady and the designer is Terrye French. Our challenge for this was to use Nontraditional Christmas Colors.

Here is a close up of the beautiful image. I used a different way to highlight my image. I first saw this done by a card designer that I have been following for some time now. Her name is Tracy or in the blogger world you will see her as Crafteezee. She makes some of the most amazing cards. So here is what I did with the background... I used 4 shades of one color, in this case I used "W" (Copics). I used the third darkest and did a small outline all around the image. Then the next shade lighter all around again, this time about twice as wide. My lightest shade came next and again I colored a larger area with the lightest.
Each time I blended from the dark into the light. The darkest color was used last. Only a fine outline was drawn right on the edge of the image and then blended with all the other three colors. I did the last step in half an inch sections to be able to blend everything just nicely. I hope you will give this a try because it makes your image just pop of the paper!

Here are the colors that I used:
